the people behind PodcastWeston Hendrix
Weston Hendrix is the Son of Brad and Krista Hendrix from Sweetwater, Tx. He is the Owner and Host of EmpowerU, where not only is he fully involved with the industry but what he believes is his calling.
He now resides in Brenham, Tx where he is on the livestock judging team for Blinn College. He delved into competitive livestock judging, facing initial setbacks but ultimately persevering. His judging journey began by not advancing, but intensive efforts, including attending Blinn judging camp and seeking guidance from seasoned judges, paid off. Now being grateful to Blinn for letting him be a part of their program and team.
Through this immersive experience, he discovered his true calling. The goat-showing world became more than just a passion, it was how he wanted to spend all his time. He owe’s much of his success to the numerous individuals who generously shared their guidance and knowledge, contributing to his triumphs in this industry. That was the beginning of a remarkable journey. With the invaluable guidance of Bronc Fleming, that connected with the Martin family at Jade Livestock, propelling him into a realm of unparalleled success.
Simultaneously, Bullnanza Stud Services in the year preceding high school marked a transformative chapter. Meeting Kolten Thigpen in his family’s feed store led to an unexpected journey of working with cattle. Despite initial reservations about his experience, he seized the chance to learn and eventually became an integral part of the business. From breaking in American show steers to working his way up to collecting bulls, the experience became a testament to the opportunities God had in store for him. The role extended beyond the stud service, encompassing the halter breaking, washing, and preparation of show steers for sale season under Mr. Thigpen’s guidance.
There’s no doubt pressure is found in hard times but it’s when you’re under pressure you show your ability to work. He appreciates all the people who have stepped into his life and helped mold him into the stockman he is today. No doubt there’s going to be ups and downs. You will have bad and good days. There are some days you want to quit. There’s going to be people talking about you. There’s going to be problems. If you stay true to you and pursues your passions and follow your heart. You can be successful. Embrace the imperfections, cherish the successes, and navigate the challenges.
In closing, He express’s deep gratitude for being a part of this industry and the opportunity to share his story. With that said he hopes you all can learn and enjoy from what his team has to offer, It’s a testament to the transformative power of passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication.
